Tears without fears

I have always hated cutting onions for two reasons:

  1. You cry like a baby (especially if you are as sensitive as I am)

  2. Your hands smell for days!

But don't you worry Young Cooks, these two things are fixable.

If you are hungry while cooking, don't be afrait to nibble on something tiny. It could be nuts or crackers, maybe some fruit, why not? If you don't want to ruin your appetite, however, you could chew a gum instead! It is believed that chewing helps when it comes to chopping onions.

Additionally, some people say it helps to peel the onions under water, or simply to wet the blade of the knife before using it.

As for the "smelly hands" use surgical gloves which will protect your hands. They come in different sizes and can come in handy after your meal, when you have to wash the dirty dishes!

Voilà!
